Variable type

- [Narrator] Welcome to the new and exciting world of Variable Fonts. This is a new open type font format. First of all, let me just talk about how this differs from regular fonts. If I come to my Layers panel, and just make sure we're on the right type layer, and then to my character panel. You can see that I am in Open Sans and I'm using the font style Regular. Now in terms of the available variations that I have of Open Sans, that will depend upon the different font styles that I have installed. Which in this case, is this list right here. But with an open type variable font, you have a much bigger range. Let's take a look. So if I switch to one of my variable concept fonts. And these are the ones that come installed with Photoshop CC. I'll use the first of them, Acumin. And then my properties panel opens where I see these sliders. And I can vary the weight, I can go from thin all the way up to ultra black. And I can vary the width from extra condensed all the way up to wide. Now…
