Using photo filters for video footage
- Another adjustment that's very popular is the Photo Filter adjustment. This simulates a traditional glass filter that would be attached to the front of the camera, and it's a useful way to warm or cool a shot. If we take a look here, I can go to one of our shots, and it just doesn't feel quite right. So with the shot selected, I'm going to come over and click on Photo Filter. You see the ability to warm or cool the shot. It's very quick and easy to apply from the different presets and use the Density amount to control the thickness. Now, if you uncheck Preserve Luminosity, it tends to darken the shot. But with this option checked, it makes it very easy to warm or cool a shot without actually affecting the black point. I would suggest you apply this to get the color temperature right. Then follow it up with Curves, and just do a simple Contrast adjustment. If needed, you can do Auto, and it should help really balance things. So now what we're able to do there is take a shot that just…
