Using Refine Edge and Refine Mask: Photoshop Compositing Tips, Tricks, & Techniques

Sean Duggan shows how to use the Quick Selection tool to create an initial selection of an image element. He then shows how to modify and improve the selection using the Refine Edge tool, so the selection can be copied to a new layer for use in a composite. He shows how to add a new background behind the layer, and he demonstrates how to use the Refine Mask tool to reduce edge fringing along the edges of the layer. He also uses a Photo Filter adjustment layer to create a unified color tone for the composite.
