Join Jan Kabili for an in-depth discussion in this video Using Instagram's Structure tool to make your photos pop, part of Photo Tools Weekly (2015).
- Hi, this is Jan Kabili for Photo Tools Weekly.…In this installment,…I'm going to show you how to use Instagram's Structure tool…to bring out texture and detail…that will make your photos pop.…Instagram has really strengthened its suite of editing tools…by adding the Structure tool.…To show you how Structure works,…I'm here in Instagram on my iPhone.…I'll tap the camera button at the bottom of the screen…and then I'll tap the camera roll button on the left…to access my camera roll.…I'm going to select a photo that I shot in Italy…to start with.…
This is just the kind of photo…on which I like to use the Structure tool…because it has lots of detail…but you can't really see that detail…with this initial exposure because…the photo's rather flat and lacking in contrast.…I'll press the NEXT button at the top-right of the screen…and that takes me to a bar where I can access the Tool icon.…I'll tap the Tool icon…which is on the right side of the bar,…and now at the bottom of the screen,…you can see Instagram's Editing buttons.…
