Using the Color Lookup adjustment layer

- The use of a LUT, or a lookup table, allows you to easily remap color and luminosity within an image. They're frequently used in the film and television industries, but have absolute bearing on photography as well. To add a lookup adjustment, just go to the adjustments panel and click Color Lookup. You'll find that there are several built in. You'll see here the ability to choose different built-in choices. The 3D LUT files that are loaded here are by default going to create mostly creative looks, but there are a few film stock emulations here as well, such as Kodak and Fuji, that allow you to change the look of the digital image for a more traditional analog film stock. The abstract category is also quite useful. These tend to be a bit more over the top, and as you see, allow you to quickly shift things to try out different options.
