Using Color Balance to create vivid color

Here I want to introduce you to one of my favorite color adjustment tools. It's called color balance. We'll be working with two different photographs so that we can really understand how we can use this adjustment in order to add or to modify the colors in our photographs. We'll be working with this picture that I captured here at sunset. And let's first create a Color Balance Adjustment layer. To do so, click on the Balance icon which you'll find in the Adjustments panel. When you do that it will create an Adjustment layer and open up our Property Inspector so that we can start to modify the controls. Well one of the reasons why I like this Adjustment layer is because these controls are really intuitive. If you drag one of these sliders to the red, well, the image becomes more red. Drag it to the left, it becomes more cyan. So not only are these color-coded but we also have words or colors to remind us how we can modify our photograph. Now we can also combine colors together.
