Using the Add and Subtract modes
- [Instructor] Alright, now I'm gonna introduce you to a couple of blend modes that tend to be very useful when calculating masks. And they go by the very simple names add and subtract, and they do exactly what they sound like they do. They add luminous levels or they subtract them. And they both include a couple of special values that are not offered to any of the other blend modes which are called offset and scale. Alright, so ultimately we wanna select the hood with all of its fur, and it's gonna end up looking something like this. Alright so I'm gonna go ahead and switch back to my image in progress and I'll click on the RGB composite just so we can see the full color image. And as you can see the colors in the fur are very warm, they tend to be browns which are shades of orange by the way, and the background is kind of bluish. Now if we were seeing blue skies in the background this would be a pretty easy thing to mask because after all, orange and blue are complimentary colors…
