Two-step approach to improving color

- [Voiceover] This course is obviously all about color, but as we saw in the previous movie, color and light are closely created, and so here I wanna take a look at a two step approach to improving color, which is something that I often do, and it involves working with masking and curves as well as hue saturation. So this photograph, I was down at the beach photographing a friend and she stuck her surfboard in the sand and I thought it was kind of beautiful. What I wanna do is brighten up the surfboard. I wanna pay attention to light and color, and eventually I need to bring out these reds, but I'm gonna work with my brightness first. So first things first, I'll go ahead and grab the quick select tool and just click and drag over the surfboard. I wanna make a good selection of the object or the area that I wanna work on. With this one, I'll go into select and mask, and just make sure I have all that selected there, and with select and mask, I wanna look at my edges. They look actually…
