Transferring footage to an edit-ready hard drive

- If you're working with a computer that has a traditional hard drive, a non-SSD drive, you're going to want to consider using an external or dedicated editing hard drive. Now, there are a wealth of these on the market, including high-performance video drives that have multiple hard drives striped together. But for purposes of Photoshop, a typical drive, something like this, would work well. In this case, this is a Thunderbolt 3 drive, and it's relatively fast. What you can easily do, after downloading the files, is just connect the drive to your computer, and let it mount. Then, transfer the files from your internal drive to the external drive. In this case, I'm just going to select the folder and choose Edit, Copy, target my external drive, and choose Edit, Paste Item. And you'll see that the files are transferred. By using a dedicated external drive, you cut down on a little bit of traffic. In this case, all the files that are going to be used are read from the external drive, and…
