Tracing the outline of the key button

- When a friend lost a button from the key fob for his remote control for his car, he asked me if I could reproduce it using 3D printing. Now we don't have the original button to copy as we did with the pawn. What we do have is the holder that holds it though we can clearly see the hole. We'll start with a Pen tool. Let's zoom in. Let's draw around the inside of this hole as accurately as we can. We'll start at the top. I'll hold my Shift key down to get a horizontal line. Going around this corner, we'll click and drag, the same in this corner, once along the bottom. Holding the Shift key again, go around this corner, the next corner, and back to the beginning. That closes the path. Now you can see it's not quite accurate. So let's adjust it. Holding Command on a Mac, Control on a PC, gives us access to the Direct Selection tool. We can click on a point and we can drag the Bezier curves to adjust the shape of the curve on each corner. You can see here that even though we adjusted it…
