- [Voiceover] Hi, this is Jan Kabili…with another episode of Photo Tools Weekly.…This week, I want to show you some techniques…that I apply when I'm trying to enhance…a model's skin in a portrait.…You may have heard that you should…take a photo to Photoshop when you're retouching a portrait.…But I think you'll be surprised…at how much portrait retouching…you can accomplish in Lightroom,…and then if you need to fine tune…you can always move a photo with your Lightroom changes…over to Photoshop to apply the more…sophisticated retouching tools there.…But here in Lightroom, one of the things…I almost always do to a closeup of a model…is soften her skin with negative clarity.…
Now, if you're a Lightroom user already…you may have heard about using…negative clarity to smooth skin.…But I have a couple new wrinkles…because some new features have…been added to Lightroom recently.…So, I'm going to start by opening the Basic panel.…Now, if I just took the Clarity slider…and dragged it over to the left…that would smooth this model's skin…
