Studio strobes

- When it comes to lighting, sometimes bigger is better. Take for example, this studio strobe here. This is a big Profoto light, that puts out a lot of light. Compared to something like this, a small camera strobe, the difference is enormous. There's a lot of reasons you might want to have more light. The first big reason comes to diffusion. If you want to diffuse your light, make it softer and spread out more, you're gonna lose a lot of light through the diffusion process. So for example, if I was to take this little strobe, and shine it through this diffusion panel, I'm gonna lose a lot of the power of this light. But if I take a huge light like this and shine it through, I'm still gonna lose some, but of course I've got a lot more to start with, so it's gonna be okay. So I can shine a light through a diffusion panel like this, through a big Octa Softbox like this, or even, through something enormous like that.
