For me, I would think, big objects,…I'm going to use content aware fill.…So I want to duplicate the background layer.…In my real work flow, I do that by way of a shortcut.…The non - shortcut way is just to click and drag…to the new layer, the shortcut is to press Command J,…on a MAC, Control J on Windows, think J for jump,…it jumps or duplicates the contents of…one layer to another.…Next I'll rename the layer, press the L key to…
