- In this movie, I'll show you how to smooth away…very small skin details like pores…using a layer of Blur,…and so the first thing we want to do…is create another merged layer…by pressing that keyboard shortcut…Control Shift Alt e here on the PC…or Command Shift Option e on the Mac.…And now I'll go ahead and rename that layer…GBlur 20…because we're going to be applying…a filter called Gaussian Blur…with a radius of 20 pixels.…And by naming the layer that way…that'll remind me what I did.…
Now you want to go up to the Filter Menu,…choose Blur, not Blur Gallery,…but rather Blur, and then choose Gaussian Blur,…which is the best basic blur filter in all of Photoshop.…Now by default, the Radius is 1.0 Pixel,…and incidentally, if you want to preview…what's going on inside the dialog box,…then you can just click on a detail inside the image…with this square cursor like so,…and then you'll see that detail blown up to 100 percent.…Now for this effect, you generally want a Radius value…of about 20 Pixels, although you can go higher…
