Shooting into the sun
- All right, so what we've got here, beautiful light to our right, beautiful light to our left. Right in front of the sun is where I want to be photographing. There's a cloud just giving me this shade across. The sun is going to drop very fast. As it goes below that cloud, that's when the light's going to hit. It's going to go really fast, so I'm going to make sure I'm ready. Got a fresh battery in. Mounted on the tripod, all set up. While this scene was in shade, I was making sure to get my composition. So, even though the light's not right, this is the time to really fine tune. Another technique I was doing, which is great with long lenses, I was zooming in and out and moving around, surveying the landscape, just to see any fresh compositions. So, it's really interesting, and I found a scene I liked. Zoomed in at 300 mil, and I liked it at about 220. So, I'm going to go ahead and shoot it both ways. Now because I'm going to be shooting directly into the sun, there's a couple things…
