- As you can see, we're getting serious now…about complex exposure situations.…I'll explain just what we're up to…with all of this, in a minute.…First, I'm gonna say that I do most…of my shooting in aperture-priority mode.…Most of the time, I want moving objects in my scene…to be frozen, so it's rare that I need…to alter shutter speed.…Instead, I'm usually concerned with depth of field,…so I stay in aperture priority mode…to keep the depth of field control that I want,…secure in the knowledge that the camera's meter…will take care of my shutter speed.…
When I need to over or underexpose,…I use the exposure compensation control.…I can work really quickly this way…and get the results that I want.…I usually see no reason to complicate my shooting…with manual mode, which requires me to think…about both shutter speed and aperture at the same time.…This is true for landscape shooting,…street shooting, just casual,…I just stay in aperture priority.…However, in a complex situation where I need…to specify over or underexposure,…
