We need to keep the original file on disc,…make a copy and sharpen the copy…for the purpose we want to use it for.…For example, we might want to use this image…for printing a small postcard so we would downsize…the resolution and we would sharpen the image…for that size of print and if we did it for a…web application the sharpen would be different.…So if we save the file already optimized…for that size and sharpening,…when we come back to use the file in the future…for something else, we can't undo that sharpen,…
