Setting up a ring for a shot

So for our first lighting project, I'd like to address something rather simple and we're going to make a photograph of a ring. The ring we've selected for this is a Native American turquoise ring, it's turquoise and sterling silver. It has a couple of kind of specific features that I want to make sure we see. One in turquoise, one of the things that is always talked about is the matrix of the turquoise. And in this particular case there's some very interesting gold highlights right here in the turquoise that kind of blend in to the larger area of the simple turquoise color. The other feature I want to focus on is the fact that the band of the ring breaks into these four pieces that hold onto the setting for the turquoise. So we've got these four distinct bars that attach to the cylinder that holds the turquoise. So the matrix in the bands are what we want to feature.
