- I showed you this effect earlier, but I wanted to reinforce the ability to create your own auto. This sort of preset is going to be particularly useful as you start to develop your own style for developing. Let's try it with the curves adjustment, I'll click on Curves and then option or alt-click on the word Auto. Let's dial things in. I'll go with the option here to fix the per channel contrast and snap the neutral midtones. Additionally, I can remap the black point here. I want pure black, but I don't want the whites to be so bright. So let's go to the brightness here and tone that down just a little. We'll take that to a brightness of 90. And you see that the image responds ensuring that we have a little bit more gray in the clouds and the surface of the clock.
