- [Deke] In this movie, we're going to talk about the relationship between the image sensor, your primary camera chip, and your lens. And this is a sufficiently technical topic that I'm just going to turn it over to Hergen. - [Hergen] So image sensors, that's the chip in your camera, as Deke mentioned, come in a variety of sizes. And the lenses that we put in front of those sensors are generally designed for that specific sensor's size. And sometimes these lenses can be used on a different sensor size and if you do that, it can affect the resulting image. - [Deke] And this is, by the way, just coming at you as an FYI. I find this to be an inherently interesting topic. If you're not really familiar with what's going on or you don't want to know that much about this, it's not like it's going to cause you a dramatic problem because you're always going to see the image as it's going to be captured in your viewfinder.
