- For many video projects and slideshows you're going to want some music but there are a lot of restrictions on what you can actually use. Just purchasing a record, or downloading songs from a service like iTunes, doesn't give you the right to actually edit a video or a slideshow to them. Your personal use license doesn't allow you to synchronize images to that music, especially if you're going to be synchronizing these images to make a delivery to a client, or that you're going to be playing back at a public venue. This is not meant to be a complete overview of copyright. There are a lot of places to get information about copyrighting music What I want you to realize is that just because you have music on your computer doesn't mean you can use it in your video.
