- Hi, this is Jan Kabili.…Welcome to Photo Tools Weekly.…Shooting a model against a white backdrop…gives you the option to re-image the model…against other colored backdrops…in Photoshop, or even against a different photo.…But first, you have to make a good selection…of the model's hair,…which can be a challenge,…particularly when the do…is a curly one like this.…So I'd like to share some tips with you…about how to get good selections of hair.…Tip number one is don't knock yourself…out trying to get a perfect selection…with Photoshop's regular selection tools.…
Instead, just choose your favorite selection tool,…like the Quick Selection Tool,…which I like because it is quick,…and use it to make just a rough selection to start with.…Tip number two, leave the fine edges of the hair…out of your initial selection as I did here…by holding the alt or option key…and then dragging over the edges…of the selection to remove these hairs at the edge.…Tip number three, use the Refine Edge controls…to fine-tune your initial rough selection.…
