Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Removing small edge details, part of Photoshop CS5: Fashion Retouching Projects.
Next we're going to explore how we can clean up some of the small details, in particular…we're going to take a look at texture and I am going to zoom in here a little bit.…I am going to work on to texture the skin. I also want to work on the…flyaway hairs that I am seeing here on the shoulder.…So in order to do that, what I am going to do is merge all of these underlying…layers to the topmost layer.…First clicking your top layer, then on the Mac press Shift+Option+Command+E, on…Windows press Shift+Alt+Ctrl+E, and what we're going to do is go ahead and name…this dust and scratches.…
I want to use a Dust and Scratches filter in order to clean up this little peach fuzz hair.…So in order to do that let's go to Filter. Here we're going to choose Noise and…then Dust and Scratches.…And what we want to do with our Dust and Scratches filter is we want to take all…our values down to 1 and 0.…Then we want to incrementally bring up our Radius.…We want to bring that up until we see that little edge detail disappear.…
