- When trying to remove larger elements in an image,…such as this deer, it might be best…to copy a really large region of good information…in order to replace that unwanted content.…I'm going to switch to the lasso tool by tapping the L key,…and I'll grab an area of content that is much bigger…than the area that I need to replace.…And then, I'll select Layer, New, Layer Via Copy.…I can use the keyboard shortcut Command J…and it copies this information…to its own layer on the layers panel.…
I'll use the move tool in order to repostion…that information on top of the deer…or the area that I want to remove.…Then, I'm going to add a layer mask,…but I want the layer mask to be black,…so I'll hold down the Option key, or the Alt key on Windows,…and click on the mask icon.…That hides all of the content that I copied to Layer 1.…Then, I'll switch to the brush tool…by tapping on the B key,…I'll make sure that I'm painting with white…in my mask to reveal the content that I copied…to this layer and start painting.…
