- Traditionally, most advanced users always skip the auto command and I used to do the same, that's until I discovered that Photoshop has built in multiple auto methods and some of them are really quite useful. Let's fix this image with a curve. There's nothing wrong with this photo, but the color is not quite accurate and it lacks a bit of contrast. I'll click here on the adjustments layer icon and choose curves. By default, a new curves adjustment is applied. Now, you can change this and have it analyze the image for you. I'm just going to click the auto button and let Photoshop attempt and that looks better, it certainly has more contrast and a bit richer, but this isn't the only choice. Hold down the option or the alt key and click on the word auto. In this case, I'm going to tell it to fix the per channel contrast. This will split the image and look at the red, green and blue channels separately. Now…
