In this video, Mike shows you the process of finding a testing center, and paying for the Photoshop ACA exam. He demonstrates the use of the Certiport website to create an account, search for nearby testing centers, and choose the correct exam. He also shows you the various options for purchasing test vouchers, as well as the retake option.
- [Instructor] Once you've spent enough time studying and practicing the objectives for the end design ACA, and you're confident in what you know, it's time to go for it and register for the exam. Some schools purchase ACA exam classroom licenses from Adobe. When a school has a classroom license, it can offer unlimited online ACA testing in one of its classrooms and this can be very convenient for students since it allows them to skip the usual process of finding a testing center, and paying for the exam. But even if your school has an ACA classroom license, you'll still need to create an account at the website of Certiport, which is the company that runs the ACA program for Adobe.
On Certiport's homepage, you can see some of the other exams that they offer including ones for Microsoft and Autodesk products. From the test candidates menu, choose start here, then click step one register. And then complete the process by entering in your information. I've already done that, so I'm just going to use the login link at the top. From here, I'll search for a testing center by going to take an exam, testing center locator. I'll click on North America, and I'll search for testing centers near Boston, Massachusetts.
I'll choose the nearest 15 centers, and on the right side for program, I'll pick Adobe Certified Associate, version creative cloud, and exam print and digital media publication using Adobe and design. And then click search. I'll continue to the results, and I get a list of all the training centers in my region along with this map. I can click on one to get more details and I can see that this one offers appointments on Fridays. I'll go back and check out another one, like this one, where the exams are given Monday through Thursday from 10 to five.
So that sounds good so now I'm registered with Certiport, and I know where I want to take the exam. Next I need to purchase a voucher to pay for the exam. From the main Certiport site, I can choose take an exam, purchase exam, and that gives me a link to the Certiport online store. And here I'll go to Adobe, ACA exam vouchers, and there are a few choices here with different prices. The test alone is $95 or you can pay an extra $20 and get unlimited opportunities to retake the test if you don't pass the first time.
Then for $140 you can get the test plus retakes plus a practice test and there are a couple of bundles for Dreamweaver and Photoshop where you get an e-book as well. Once you make your selection it's a pretty standard internet shopping cart experience. You enter your credit card and other payment information and when the transaction is complete you get a 16 digit alphanumeric code that is your voucher. This code must be entered during the launch of the exam in order to begin it. Once you complete that exam, the code cannot be reused.
If you purchase the retake option, you'll get a new voucher to take the test again if you didn't pass the first time. With your voucher in hand, you can contact the testing center you chose and schedule your test. Next we'll take a look at the testing center experience.
