Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Decontaminating colors with Select and Mask, part of Photoshop CC 2015 New Features.
- [Voiceover] In this movie, I'll show you how…to take our clumsy selection so far…and refine it so that it looks absolutely great…using the new Selection Lab also known as…the Select and Mask workspace.…And I'm also going to show you a couple of other ways…to gain access to the workspace.…First of all, I'm going to click…on the image thumbnail right there,…for the hair layer,…and then I want you to see…if I go to the Select menu,…what was once the Refine Edge command…has been renamed Select and Mask…and what's great about it is,…prior to this version of the software,…if you had the image thumbnail selected…as opposed to the layer mask thumbnail,…then this command would have been dimmed…but it's not dimmed anymore.…
Also, it has a keyboard shortcut of Ctrl Alt R…or Cmd Opt R left over from the word refine.…So, that's one way to work.…Another way is to just go ahead and double-click…on the layer mask thumbnail here inside the layers panel…and if this is the first time you've done it…in the most recent version of Photoshop CC,…
