Another choice you can utilize in Adobe Photoshop to affect colors is color balance. It can help you shift the color more one way or the other in an image. In this video, Richard Harrington walks through how to use color balance in Photoshop.
- An alternative adjustment for affecting colors…is color balance.…This allows you to look at different zones in the image…and shift the color one way or the other.…In this photo of a field,…you'll see that this original image, while okay,…feels a little bit off.…The golds have a greenish cast to them.…It doesn't have the right warmth.…And I'm not totally satisfied with the green either.…If you look at how I processed it,…you'll see that two adjustments were used.…
First off, the color balance adjustment…brings out some details.…In the shadows, we emphasized the greens,…while in the highlights I brought out the yellows.…Plus on top of that, I applied a curve to restore contrast.…Well here's how that works.…The color balance adjustment can be found in the second row.…And you can now use this to target areas.…So, for example, in the shadows…I can bring out the intensity of the green.…
Here we go.…A little more blue,…a little more green,…and a little bit of yellow.…That looks good.…Be sure to consider the Preserve Luminosity checkbox…
