Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Reducing skin variation with the Healing Brush, part of Photoshop CS3 Portrait Retouching Essentials.
In the next couple of movies we will be working on this photograph titled annika_and_dad.…let's open this one up.…Just a couple of weeks ago, my dad came to visit and this is a nice portrait of my daughter Annika and her grandpa.…What I want to do in this particular image is, I want to work on some of these sunspots on my dads head.…So I'm going to zoom in to my dad over here and we are going to create a new layer, Shift+Command+N on a Mac,…Shift+Control+N on a PC, r1 for retouching one, press the J key and then hold down the shift key…and press the J key multiple times until you get to the tool with the wending.…
Now, what we are going to do here is we want to make sure we have all layers selected we do.…We want to zoom in on our blemishes to make a nice small brush, a little bit bigger than the size of the blemish.…Hold down the Option key and then we are just going to go ahead and paint over the blemishes and we are going to look…to bring down the variation of the skin here.…I'm going to go ahead and make my way through this part of the image.…
