We've spent a bit of time talking about theory. Now, let's move on to some specific techniques and we'll start with Photoshop. Before you can split a photograph into layers, you need to actually be able to select the pieces. So, I want to show you a few of my favorite tools to do this. I've opened up a photograph, and I'm going to click up here in the toolbar to expand the tools to two columns. Then, from the same well as the Magic Wand, I'll choose the Quick Selection Tool. It's a very useful tool for making a selection by simply dragging in an image. Now what I can do is click and start to drag. And you notice it makes a basic selection. This makes it easy to start to choose what it is we want in the photograph. And by dragging through, it recognizes edges and details. Now, in this case, sometimes it gets things you don't want, and that's particularly challenging with this photograph because it's all one color. So, I'll…
