Putting the Histogram to use
- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to put the histogram to use. And so here I am working in the nondestructively corrected version of that first puffin and I've gone ahead and pressed Shift + Tab to bring back my right side panels so that we're looking at the histogram. Now right now we're looking at the luminosity view which is across all three of the channels, and what we can see here is that we don't have any shadow clipping, so that's good. We've got a ton of shadows and dark mid-tones and then things really taper off in the bright mid-tones and we have little in the way of highlights. And notice as I drag over, I want you to pay attention to this level value right here. As I drag across the graph, it's going to tell me that the area that I'm dragging over is from 232-255, at least in my case, and that's going to tell you the luminance range. So some very bright pixels indeed. After all, 255 is white.…
