Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Project 3: Quick skin softening, part of Photoshop CS3 Portrait Retouching Essentials.
So how do you soften skin when you are in a hurry?…Well, we are going to learn how we can soften skin when we don't have a lot of time.…We will be working on this file jenny.psd.…We will also look at how we can record an action that we can apply to our other images in order to soften skin.…Go and open up this file jenny.psd, take it to Full Screen View mode and double click the Zoom tool to take this to 100%.…you will notice in the Layers palette, there are a couples of different images.…We are going to first work on this image of Jenny.…
First things first, we need to record an action.…Click on the Actions icon here or navigate to the Window drop down menu and choose Actions.…Next, click on the Action Set folder and name the set Skin, and then click on the New Action icon and name this Soft.…Now, what we need to do is copy the background layer.…So will press Command+J on a Mac, Ctrl+J on a PC and name this layer Soft.…Now we are going to go to our Channels palette.…We are going to do something a little bit strange, but it is totally worth it.…
