- With our button complete, all we have to do now is prepare it for printing. We'll go to the 3D menu and chose 3D print settings. I'm going to print this locally to a STL file so I can then print it out on my printer. We don't need change the scene volume, we've already set that. You can see that where the button was 1.5 cm wide it's now 1.634 and that's for the extra space around the edge to make the flange. Nothing else to do here. We can go straight into 3D print. It's going to repair the mesh, that shouldn't take long. And there we go. There is our button all ready for printing. All we have to do now is export it. Here's the button starting it's print. You can see the flange, the piece that should in theory, stop the button falling out the hole again. It's now starting to build up the button itself. Here you can see that I am printing the button hollow. It's got about 20% fill on it so that it doesn't use up a huge amount of material simply making the button. Once this is printed…
