- Here's our finished 3D model, all we have to do now is to prepare it for 3D printing. We can go to the 3D menu, and let's choose 3D Print Settings down at the bottom. It's defaulting to print to a local printer, but of course, unless we have an extremely expensive local printer, we're not going to print this in full color. You can't get full color from either PLA or ABS, so let's change our print settings from local to Shapeways. It's defaulting to gold plated brass, let's change this to full color sandstone, and there is our object looking just as we wanted it. We have to check the Scene Volume, because this was set up as a large document at 72 DPI, it thinks this is currently 600 millimeters long. That's over two feet long, it's a ridiculous size for this lizard. And certainly larger than we can print. If we go to, press this button, Scale to Print Volume, that's going to take it down to the biggest size that Shapeways can print in full color in this material. Of course, we don't…
