- With Twitter, you can decide to upload directly to the Twitter hosting platform, but there are a few rules. Twitter is fine with a GIF and there are some benefits, but an MPEG-4 will also play. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep them fairly short. Both of them should auto-play in loop if you upload directly to Twitter.
