and welcome to another episode of Photo Tools Weekly. In this week's episode, we are in Photoshop, and we're talking about filters and about how we can use them more efficiently. Well, here, you can see I have this photograph of my buddy, Tony. I have one layer, the background layer. Now, if I decide to apply a filter to it And if I decide to try to look at this little teeny dialog, which is actually really hard to see, and figure out where I want this to be and the intensity of this and then click OK, that type of filter application is nondestructive. In other words, I can't undo this, change this, modify the settings at all. So, rather than doing that, let's undo that. Command + Z on a Mac, Control + Z Windows. We'll go to Filter and we'll choose Convert for Smart Filters. What this will do is it will convert this layer into a smart object layer. You can see it changed its name.
