These restoration jobs don't take hours of painstaking pixel pushing, but they still have unique challenges. In this course, master retoucher Neil Rhodes details the steps involved in fixing the kinds of color casts and damage typically found in vintage color snapshots. Using Photoshop, he shows how to select images for repair, remove scratches, adjust for color casts and tonal variations, and perform more complex light-leak removal with channels.
Skill Level Intermediate
- Hi, I'm Neil Rhodes and welcome to Photo Restoration Techniques, Color Casts and Fading. In this course we'll be learning some basic techniques in photo restoration where we will be correcting basic color casts and a more complex light leak using Adobe Photoshop. These techniques will help you correct your color-faded, family photos back to their former glory. First, we'll take a look at getting started with the right kind of photograph for processing, then I'll show you how to work on your scanned image and adjust for color casts and tonal variations.
Next, we'll take a look at an example of the light leak and how to remove it using channels. I'm very excited to share these techniques with you and help you restore your old photos. Let's get started.
