The Pen tool
- One of the tools that can be helpful for creating Selections but isn't actually a Selection tool is the Pen Tool. The Pen Tool is really used for creating shapes, by and large shapes that are comprised of curved lines. But you can use one of those shapes, more specifically a Path that you create with the Pen Tool as the basis of a Selection. Let's take a look at how that's done, just as one example here I have an area of this building, this dark area down below that is comprised essentially of one big curve. I would break this down probably into two pieces and we can essentially trace that shape. Those curved shapes in order to create a Path that we can use as the basis of a Selection using the Pen Tool, before we actually use the Pen Tool with this specific image, let's just take a look at how the Pen Tool works in general.
