Painting with the Sharpen tool

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll demonstrate the final method for sharpening an image, and it's the sharpen tool. So notice this droplet right here, that represents the blur tool. If you click and hold on it, you'll find the sharpen tool, here in this fly out menu. Now the downside of the sharpen tool, is you're painting in destructive modifications. So it's permanently changing the pixels in an image. The upside is that it's selective, and so where I find it to be useful is when there's just one little detail in the image that isn't as sharp as it ought to be, and in the case of this leaf scorpion fish right here. I missed the focus on the eye. So as I was telling you at the outset of this chapter, there's not really any way that you're going to invent focus where focus doesn't exist, but we can sharpen up the details and get this guy looking better. So the first thing I'm going to do is press the right bracket key a few times in order to increase the size of my brush, and then…
