Optimize photo exports
- When it comes to uploading JPEGs to the web, size matters. We really want to have as optimized as files as we can just to make the experience on the other end better and of course it helps when you're uploading as well if your files are a bit smaller. But really it's all about that viewing experience. If you have multiple megabytes worth of photos on a single web page and your viewer's on a slower connection, well they may leave before everything gets downloaded so it's in your best interest to make sure that your files are as small and efficient as possible. Now, of course you know that out of Photoshop or Lightroom or whatever software you're using, you can export JPEGs at varying levels of compression. You can choose 90% quality or 70 or 50 or 30 or 10 and of course the more compressed it is, the smaller the file's gonna be, but you lose quality pretty quickly.
