Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video New ways to manage layer effects, part of Photoshop CC 2015 New Features.
- In this movie, I'll show you a few new ways to manage…layer effects inside Photoshop, starting with…the fact that you can change their stacking order.…For example, I could take this top stroke in the stack,…the one that's serving as the dark stroke…on the outside of the characters,…and I could drag it down to underneath the bright stroke,…in order to produce this effect here.…Which, basically, just ends up covering up that stroke.…The thing to know, while this is…pretty exciting that you can do this,…you can't drag a stroke down to below a drop shadow.…
So you can only move a stroke within the stroke group,…and you can only move a drop shadow…within the drop shadow group, and so forth.…It's just something to bear in mind.…I'm gonna go ahead and drag this guy…back down to the bottom of the stack…so we preserve the original appearance of the text.…And now, I'll double-click on the word Effects…in order to bring up the massive Layer Style dialogue box.…In addition to being able to change the stacking order…of layer effects inside the Layers panel,…
