Neutralizing an image

In this movie, I'd like to continue in effect, kind of finish our discussion of color image fundamentals. Now so far, we've talked about the fact that digital images such as this image here is really constructed out of you know, square pixel bricks. That's how our image is basically constructed, the basic building blocks that are arranged in eight bit grayscale channels on individual channels. And that there's grayscale values assigned to each of those pixels based upon the bit depth of the image. And then we discussed how that data is displayed using histograms. The final and really important fundamental concept that I want to broach here is the concept of neutralization. And it really is just an outgrowth of our discussion of greyscale values making up images. Just to review one more time, because it's so important, remember, every color image is made up of grey scale values on three different channels so if grey scale values can hold color that means if we can get the gray scale…
