Moving layers between documents

One of the things that you might want to do when you are working with multiple documents is sometimes share or copy a layer from one document to the other. Here I have got my documents opened up as floating documents, each in its own window. So it's pretty straightforward. You just can drag and drop from one document window to the other. To do that, I'll just click in this layer here, this image and drag this layer over to the other document. When I let go, it comes into that document just like so. So pretty straightforward. However, when you have a document that's got lots of different layers, you might want to be more careful than that.

So you've the option of also using the Layers panel and seeing which layer specifically you want to drag. So if I had ten layers here, you want to make sure that the layer you are dragging is indeed the layer that you want to take over. So Photoshop allows you to do that with floating documents.
