Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Modifying tone and adding blur , part of Photoshop CS5: Fashion Retouching Projects.
Here what we are going to do is take a look at how we can finish this image off.…In the previous movie, I said there is really only one more thing to do here…but as I look at this image, I realize there are really a few more steps that I…want to take with this one.…Now for starters, I want to do a little bit more work on color and tone.…I am going to go ahead and lower the intensity of this contrast.…It feels like it's just too high, so I am going to decrease that a bit.…Next, I am going to click on the Adjustment Layer icon and choose Curves.…In in-curves, I want to create a brightening curve here and I want to do this…and then just paint it into the subject.…
So here we will invert the mask, Command+I on a Mac, Ctrl+I on Windows.…Press the B key to select your Brush tool and go ahead and paint with white,…make your brush nice and big here, and all that we are going to do is just start…to paint in a little bit more brightness to the subject.…Do this wherever you think would be kind of nice to have this, just a little bit…
