Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Modifying adjustment layers by hand, part of Photoshop: Shortcuts.
- We're going to continue talking about…adjustment layers in this movie here…and we're going to talk specifically about…one of the adjustment layers that I like to…use all the time…the black and white adjustment layer.…This is an adjustment layer that when they…first introduced it I was very happy about because…before the black and white adjustment layer…there were only about a billion ways…to do black and white photography in Photoshop…but once Adobe released the black and white adjustment layer…all bets were off.…Everybody just said "wow, that's the way to do it,…cool, let's just stick with that."…And so when they introduced it,…and I'll go ahead and apply one here…so you can see what it looks like.…
They came up with this…so they apply a default black and white adjustment to it…and then they give you access to all of these different…color sliders here.…And these color sliders basically mean…do you want the part of the image that contains…this particular color to be lighter or darker.…That's what these all mean.…
