Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Making basic adjustments with Adobe Camera Raw (project 2), part of Photoshop CS5: Athletic Retouching Projects.
In this project, we'll be working on this photograph, joe_02.…It's a picture of the same person and what I want to do is add a bit of style…and change the overall look and feel of this image by improving its composition,…and also working on the color and tone.…So let's start off with this image in Adobe Camera Raw.…To do so, you may recall that we can go to the File pulldown menu and then…choose Open in Camera Raw.…We also can right-click or Ctrl+click on the image and then select Open in…Camera Raw, or you can use a shortcut. On a Mac, it's Command+R; on Windows,…that's Ctrl+R. Either way, let's open up this image inside of Adobe Camera Raw.…
Now, I like the composition here in regards to this textured background.…I like that the surfboard is out of focus in the background, but again, I think…the subject is a little bit lost in the frame.…I want to bring them a bit more forward.…So let's go ahead and press the C key to select the Crop tool, or you can…always click on the Crop tool icon.…Next, go ahead and click and drag to extend this out to the edge of the image…
