Okay, so now we'll going to add some lights. Got our little forest in place and our tower still looks a little light. But we going to take care of that later when the final touches. We're going to add some lights now. And the lights are going to be added right in back of everything else. So here's our edge, platform tower, all those guys. I'm going to put it right behind the edge here. I'm going to create a layer. Right there. And we're going to call this one, lights. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to add, using white. We've got a nice white here. I'm going to just get a, nice, kind of a soft edge brush.
There it is, soft edge. The size is a little, nice size right there. That's a good size, let's see what it does. It creates that little tiny thing that's going here and right here in the corner, let's get up close. I'm going to go in here and start creating a nice little circle right here at the edge. Okay? Let's bring the opacity up to 100%. And we'll just add a little light right in there like that. And we'll add another one right here. Add another one there. Add another one right there. Each one can get a little bit bigger than the one before, okay? Now we're going to come down here.
And we'll add a light right there. And another one right there. In fact, we'll put one right in there. And let's turn off these trees in the foreground so we can see the rest of the stuff. Let's go and turn this off, this off. There you go. Just so we could see where we're going to be putting our lights. because we're going to need to see those lights. There they are, all right? So, let's go and see the, the, pull back a little bit. And in fact, let's get real close so we can see what's going to happen next.
So there's our lights. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go into the Layers Styles for the lights, themselves. And I'm going to give it a little outer glow. Which one I'm going to use a nice orange color. A nice orange color like that and make it a little bigger. So I get this nice kind of a glow like that. And bring the opacity up, so we got a nice bright orange, right there. Where you see it nice and bright in other areas. Then I'm going to give it a little inner glow. And the inner glow, we're going to make it a bright yellow like that. And we're going to put that in a normal mode, because you won't see it against the white.
And there you see the, you have this nice little yellow glow inside of the orange glow. So we can go in there and increase the opacity on that one a little bit. And just tiny bit bigger. Just so we have a little dot of white with the yellow and going into the gold. Let's increase that, intensity of this orange a bit, okay. And maybe we'll put that in normal mode. Yeah, there we go. So now we got this nice, kind of a orange glow out there. Click OK. And we pull back and we see that, now we have all our little lights.
So when we turn our trees back on, the trees in the foreground. And who is this guy? Let's see well, who this guy is. Who is that guy? Where did he come from? Do we have an extra tree? I think we have an extra tree, yes we do. Okay so there's our tree. Lets throw that tree away. We don't need that extra tree. All right so now that we have lights in this scene. These lights have to affect the trees. So what we're going to do is we're going to select that tree back there. There it is right? That's six. So here's the six that has lights.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go into six right here. Holding down my option key, I'll give it a mask. Holding down the option key gave me a black mask. Which hides the entire layer. So what I'm going to just do is I'm going to get white. because that's what I'm going to use in my mask, white exposes. I'm going to get my paintbrush. And I'm going to get a, kind of one of these, weird brushes. The ones, the little spatter brushes. because they're very random. I'm going to use this one, right here. Okay. And then, I'm going to go into my brush engine. Where I'm going to go in and give it a little spacing, just a little spacing right there.
And in Shape Dynamics, I'm going to move the angle around. So that I get this nice random, kind of a texture in there. Right? And then I come up here, make it a little bigger. And what I'm going to do is, I'm going to start to draw little touches right through here on that lit tree. The one that's got the bright lights, right? The one that we didn't colorize. The black. And you can see what's starting to happen. It looks like those lights are effecting that tree in the back. Same thing down here. Now we're not seeing much of it, but we want to get some of that stuff coming through.
And we will see it when we start to soften up this tree in the front. We go to that second tree right here, there it is. Give that tree that same mask and we start to just touch little areas. because these trees are being affected by those lights up on the platform. So they're being lit up. And finally, this guy back here. We give it a mask, and we add a couple little touches in there. because, it's just picking up the lights from the platform above.
So now, it's very dark down here, but there are lights affecting this area down here. So let's go see this guy, that's this guy right here. Get its mask, and we'll just throw a couple little light tones right thru there. As we can see where it's picking up the light from down below. And we can look at some of these front trees. Let's turn these guys off, there's that guy. All right, he's kind of strong. So what we're going to do is we're going to kind of lighten up some of these areas. So let's take that tree right there and we'll kind of make him a little bit transparent.
Just a little bit, just enough so that we start to see stuff coming through it. We don't want to totally see stuff coming through it, we just want to see the hints of what's in there or what's back there. Now if you want to have more light coming through and more things, what you could do is just add less leaves to your existing trees. So if we had taken this guy and put him in front, you would've seen more of that tree in back. But it's not necessary. because all we wanted to do is just give an idea of the hint of where these lights are coming from. So now.
Now we can go in there and start doing those final touches. So in the movie, what we'll do is we'll start to finalize the lighting on our tower
