Join Lee Varis for an in-depth discussion in this video Lesson 10: Channels continued, part of Beyond Skin: Going Deeper with Photoshop CS3.
We're going to look at another image now where we can take advantage of the…different black and white channels of a color image and achieve a corrective result.…So let's take a look here.…I have this great shot.…This is by Anthony Nex.…My child photography expert here.…He has got great shot of Jordan here, and one thing we want to do we want to…correct, he is a little dark looking.…It's always a problem with African- American, try and bright them out without…changing them too much.…
Let's start with our--let's start with our color first.…I'm not going to check black and white points, but I'm going to check for…the color of the skin.…So let's first put a thick sample around the skin.…Check out the CMYK values here.…And we can see magenta is at 61, yellow is at 51.…It's exactly opposite the usual.…We are very high in magenta here so his is looking kind of red.…African-American skin is a little bit different.…
As it gets darker we usually want to have a little more magenta than yellow,…otherwise the skin starts looking green.…
