Join Jan Kabili for an in-depth discussion in this video Jumping from Lightroom to Photoshop and back, part of Photo Tools Weekly (2015).
- Hi, this is Jan Kabili for Photo Tools Weekly.…This week I want to talk about moving photos…between Lightroom and Photoshop, and back.…I think is both an art and science to doing this.…The art is knowing when you need to take a photo…from Lightroom over to Photoshop,…and the science is about how to do that.…So just a word about when to take a photo…from Lightroom to Photoshop.…You'll need to do that when there are things…that you want to do to a photo that you can do…in Photoshop, but you cannot do in Lightroom.…Or that you can do better in Photoshop…than you can do in Lightroom.…
Some examples are, if you want to change content…in a photo, like remove part of a photo,…or do some sophisticated retouching.…Or if you want to add layers of content, like a texture…or another photo in a composite.…Or if you want to add special effects…like filters or layer styles.…In all those cases, you want to pass photos…that you're managing in Lightroom over to Photoshop,…do some editing there, and return the results to Lightroom…
