Isolating the mossy trees in a busy forest
- There are so many stories to tell in the forest. Now, in a rain forest people typically think, oh, in the spring it's gonna be lush and green and everything's gonna be vibrant and they'd be absolutely correct, but in November it's also green and also vibrant and you can also make great images with much less crowds. We've been, in large part, just alone out here in the wilderness having a great time. I'm looking at moss. Moss is an interesting story for me. It covers this forest. The rocks, the trees. Everything fallen on the ground. It's just an amazing subject and what I've noticed is there's a very interesting branch which has kind of a pattern, kind of interesting lines coming from the tree where the moss is lighter than everything else around it, so it has this glow to it; it glows in the forest. It's just beautiful. So I'm using the long lens to isolate it, to really isolate something very specific when in the forest itself. The most challenging part for this shot was just…
